رمضان

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is also the month when the fourth pillar of Islam, fasting, is observed. For approximately one month followers of this religion will not eat between sunrise and sunset. It is a time for focusing on their religion, they are encouraged to spend more time praying and being charitable. During this month we are asking that you pray for the people of our country and especially the followers of this religion (cousins). The month is based on the lunar calendar and for that reason starts on different dates in different parts of the world. In The Islands Ramadan is expected to start around September 12 and last until October 13. The month of fasting ends with a special celebration called Eid al-Fitr, a day of forgiveness, moral victory, fellowship, and unity.

We are praying that this month will be a time when people are open to hearing about The Truth and Forgiveness. Please join us in prayer during this time. Attached to this email is a calendar with a prayer request for each day of Ramadan. Please feel free to print this calendar and put it in a place where you will be reminded daily to pray for The Islands, but please guard our security by not forwarding this email or posting it on the internet.
