HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY TO ROGER AND COURTNEY!!!
We realize just how fortunate – and lucky we are. For our honeymoon 2
years ago we were able to spend 3 weeks traveling around Thailand. Last year, for our first
anniversary we spent the weekend in Nashville.
And the second anniversary was spent on the beaches of Bali!
We spent the first 7 days in Bali
with all the workers that are in our region. It was great to be with other workers
who go through many of the same experiences that we do and to share praises,
joys, frustrations, and failures with each other.
The annual meeting came at a really good time for us as we
have been over here for about 6 months and much of the “honeymoon”
period has worn off. Usually when we write everyone at home about our
experiences we have the tendency to tell only the good things and sugarcoat
some of the other stuff…in reality…this job is TOUGH! We really
LOVE what we do, but we have experienced our fair share of disappointments and
struggles. Needless to say, we had a great time of refocusing and refreshing.
After the conference we went to a resort for about 3 days
to celebrate our anniversary, soak up the sun, play in the crystal clear sea, snorkel,
and eat real American food (we ate Hard Rock Café twice, Bubba Gump’s,
and Krispy Kreme!).
In other news, we had opportunities to hang out with some
young married couples a few time this month. One couple we know, N&J,
profess to have a relationship with the Father. Pray that we will be able to
meet with them again and have some good conversations. Another couple we know,
I&K, were just married a couple weeks ago…they do not have a
relationship with the Father, so lift them up as they begin their marriage that
they would come to know the Truth.
Later in July we will be traveling again…this time to
Thailand
.
We’ll be going to a conference for new workers in Chiang Mai. After this
conference we will spend about 4 days traveling around
Thailand
. Please lift this time up
to the Father as well because we are going to see many of our friends that we
met when we did summer work in
Thailand
.
We hope that we will have opportunities to share the Truth with these very dear
friends of ours.
(we heard that 60% of
coffee grown in this country is sold to Starbucks…so…remember us
when you have your morning Java!)
Praises
- Thanks to everyone
who has been asking Father that we would meet couples. We went to a large
“house of worship” (for the dominate religion here) the other
day and met a couple that will be married soon.
- For a great time of
fellowship with other believers and for a great anniversary.
- Our new team members
got their visas so they won’t be delayed in getting here!!!
- Opportunities to
meet with young married couples in the city
Prayer Requests
- Safety as we travel
to Thailand
and that we would have a great time connecting with other new people in
our region.
- MORE MARRIED COUPLES
- Our newly married
friends, I&K, that they would be open to the Truth.
- Boldness and growth
for the “believing” married couple N&J.
- That we can meet
with the couples we have already met and that we can really sow the seed
of the good news.
- There is a volunteer
team in the city right now, ask the Father that they will find students
that are open to the Truth on university campuses.
