The
“Let
them give glory to the LORD and proclaim his praise in the islands.”
Isaiah
42:12
It’s graduation time in the States and as we hear
of our friends finishing up another year of school and moving on to new things
we are reminded of how much has changed for us in the past year. We are
thankful to report this month that we have finished full-time language study!
After nearly four months of daily study we have moved
into full time ministry. We love it! Each week we meet with our friends and try
to share the love of Christ with them. We meet with our friends that are
believers and try to encourage them to continue growing in their faith and
share with others. We also spend time each week going to local university
campuses to promote our English center and hopefully meet new people. No two
weeks are alike; in fact no two days are alike. It’s definitely a good
change of pace for us.
We have been blessed to recently meet several young
married couples and begun building a relationship with them. A typical evening
with them includes eating, lots of confusion between our language and theirs
and just hanging out and talking while playing pool.
We are still teaching English classes two days a week.
Last week Roger’s class came over to our house for some good ole American
food. The mashed potatoes, barbeque chicken and brownies were a big hit. In
fact, they liked it so much they are coming over again this week so that they
can learn to cook those things.
Of course, our purpose in being here is to share our
faith with those around us and encourage those that already believe. Now that
language school is finished we are finding many opportunities to do just that.
Please remember us and pray that over each cup of coffee or plate of rice we
share with friends that our conversation will be led towards Christ and His
love for us.
Please pray with us this month:
